The focus should shift from ourselves to the Lamb of God that taketh away the sin of the world. 1Co 2:2  For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified. Php 1:21  For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain. Php 3:7  But what things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Christ.
Php 3:8  Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ,
Php 3:9  And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith:
Php 3:10  That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death;
Php 3:11  If by any means I might attain unto the resurrection of the dead.
I do not want to argue the point but walking away from traditional churches is not necessarily walking into truth because one can easily walk into a worse error. There is a need to be cautious and self distrusting in matters of salvation. We take off our shoes there.
Php 3:10  That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death;
Php 3:11  If by any means I might attain unto the resurrection of the dead.

Either God saved us or we save ourselves. The focus in the Wilderness was on looking at the serpent which was the Lamb of God who was made sin for us: 2Co 5:21  For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. Isaiah then says: Isa 53:6  All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all. Isa 53:10  Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in his hand.
1Pe 2:24  Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.

1Jn 2:2  And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.

We may need to examine the object of our faith. In addressing the sin question in our lives we ALL have this danger: Rom 10:3  For they being ignorant of God’s righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God. You may offer Isaac but God will not accept it. That is why He provided HIMSELF an offering. God offers HIMSELF for the sin of MAN. This is the overwhelming truth of the Bible and the only thing that quenches and silences sin in the soul. When we see that our sin was paid for by God getting off His throne to become a sacrifice for the transgression of man: it changes us, genuinely silences sin in the soul. 1Pe 2:24  Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed. Who is this? Isa 9:6  For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Php 2:5  Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:
Php 2:6  Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:
Php 2:7  But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:
Php 2:8  And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.

Heb 10:4  For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins.
Heb 10:5  Wherefore when he cometh into the world, he saith, Sacrifice and offering thou wouldest not, but a body hast thou prepared me:
Heb 10:6  In burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin thou hast had no pleasure.
Heb 10:7  Then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me,) to do thy will, O God.
Heb 10:8  Above when he said, Sacrifice and offering and burnt offerings and offering for sin thou wouldest not, neither hadst pleasure therein; which are offered by the law;
Heb 10:9  Then said he, Lo, I come to do thy will, O God. He taketh away the first, that he may establish the second.

Mic 6:7  Will the LORD be pleased with thousands of rams, or with ten thousands of rivers of oil? shall I give my firstborn for my transgression, the fruit of my body for the sin of my soul? Psa 51:17  The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise. This is all we can ever offer God for our sin.

The righteousness by which we are saved is that of another: His.

That was the whole point of a BODY being prepared and the Son of God coming in the flesh. He had to live a life for us that could be credited to our account by BIRTH of FAITH. We are His offspring. Heb 2:14  Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil; 1Co 15:45  And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit. The first Adam begats us to death. The second Adam begats us to life. We must therefore logically be born of the second which is by faith as it is not a birth according to the will of the flesh, not biological but spiritual. The seed is not the seed of the flesh but the word of God which is the Spirit of God. Eph 6:17  And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: Joh 6:63  It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life. Joh 3:6  That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.  1Pe 1:23  Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever. Joh 1:13  Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. Gal 3:2  This only would I learn of you, Received ye the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith? Gal 3:3  Are ye so foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh?

1 John 4:3. Why in the flesh? Simple: the sin that condemns us is inherited IN THE FLESH. He had to provide us another BIRTH by faith in a BODY that never sinned. Heb 4:15  For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. 1Pe 1:19  But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:

The life of the Son of God lived in the flesh is the righteousness that is imputed to us when we in our despair and shame look to Him as Israel did in the wilderness.

Joh 3:14  And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up:
Joh 3:15  That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.

The surest way to be lost is to approach God dressed in the garment of your own weaving. That is why God rejected Cain’s offering. We are to approach God dressed in a total faith in the RIGHTEOUSNESS which HE has provided: HIS righteousness, HIS SON, HIMSELF IN HIS SON, on the CROSS and IN THE BODY. 2Co 5:19  To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. We can only ever be acceptable dressed in HIS righteousness and our sin for HIS SAKE “not imputed”. He wove this acceptability it in THE BODY by living a life wholly pleasing to God even unto death. By trusting only in THIS, HIS MERIT, we dress in HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS. WE ARE ACCEPTED IN THE BELOVED. We look at the “Serpent” in this our wilderness and we are healed.

Gen 22:8  And Abraham said, My son, God will provide himself a lamb for a burnt offering: so they went both of them together. Thus it has ever been.Joh 1:14  And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. Isa 53:6  All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.  Isa 53:10  Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in his hand.

Joh 8:29  And he that sent me is with me: the Father hath not left me alone; for I do always those things that please him.

Eph 1:6  To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.

Anything other than this is falsehood. It will save no-one and will greatly disappoint and has no power over sin. Nothing we can ever do or say can redeem our souls and reverse the dominion of sin. By beholding alone we are saved. 2Co 3:18  But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord. The Spirit ALONE quickens or brings to life dead sinners. He alone creates in answer to faith GODLIKENESS in the soul. It is a DIVINE ACT. 1Jn 5:1  Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God: and every one that loveth him that begat loveth him also that is begotten of him. 1Jn 5:4  For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith. It is clear that the SEED of God is the WORD of GOD and the WORD of GOD is the SON of GOD and the SON of GOD is GOD. Luk 8:11  Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God. Joh 1:1  In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. Gal 3:16  Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. The Seed and the Word and God are the same thing.  He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ. The coming of Christ is the incarnation of God and man only ever lives by receiving the life of God as he has by sin forfeited his own. He is forever a BRANCH of the VINE. Joh 15:5  I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.  Rom 6:23  For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Joh 17:2  As thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given him.

Turning from this the Jews as all sinners do went about their own thing. Act 15:10  Now therefore why tempt ye God, to put a yoke upon the neck of the disciples, which neither our fathers nor we were able to bear? This yoke Satan intends to place upon all. Rom 9:32  Wherefore? Because they sought it not by faith, but as it were by the works of the law. For they stumbled at that stumblingstone; This yoke of bondage Satan would place on the whole world. Gal 5:1  Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.

Gal 5:2  Behold, I Paul say unto you, that if ye be circumcised, Christ shall profit you nothing.
Gal 5:3  For I testify again to every man that is circumcised, that he is a debtor to do the whole law.
Gal 5:4  Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace.
Gal 5:5  For we through the Spirit wait for the hope of righteousness by faith.
Gal 5:6  For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love.

Satan would rob us of faith by thrusting on us all self-serving rituals that did not benefit those who practiced them save as an object lesson and which they failed to keep. Col 2:16  Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:
Col 2:14  Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross; Please note the word ORDINANCES and hand writing. We are discussing here the ANSWER to sin, not the DEFINITION of sin. The definition is changeless. The solution is CHRIST or the SUBSTITUTE ADAM or NEW BEGINNING of the race, the SPIRIT RACE, not the FLESH RACE, not born of the FLESH but of FAITH. CHRIST or the SON of GOD INCARNATE is WHOLLY an act of God.

Ecc 3:14  I know that, whatsoever God doeth, it shall be for ever: nothing can be put to it, nor any thing taken from it: and God doeth it, that men should fear before him.

You cannot add to it by sleeping in a tent or going to Jerusalem or observing any of the Jewish Feasts, The righteousness that save is wholly a GOD ACT which you receive as a GIFT by FAITH,

Rom 3:31  Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law. Rom 8:4  That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. And this is not a negation of the ten commandments, but the granting of a nature capable of them  through the indwelling Spirit which we receive as a result of our faith in Christ. Joh 1:12  But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Joh 1:33  And I knew him not: but he that sent me to baptize with water, the same said unto me, Upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending, and remaining on him, the same is he which baptizeth with the Holy Ghost. 1Co 6:11  And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.

Mat 12:28  But if I cast out devils by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God is come unto you. Being the Son and Spirit of God incarnate, God in Christ, the Son of God is the “father of spirits”. Hebrews 12 verse 9.  Jesus dispenses the SPIRIT and the SPIRIT dispenses gifts to men.  Joh 15:26  But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me: 1Co 12:11  But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will.

1Co 1:24  But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God. Joh 14:26  But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

The significance is that there is no distinction between The FATHER sending the HOLY GHOST and the SON SENDING the HOLY GHOST. Joh 16:15  All things that the Father hath are mine: therefore said I, that he shall take of mine, and shall shew it unto you. Joh 5:23  That all men should honour the Son, even as they honour the Father. He that honoureth not the Son honoureth not the Father which hath sent him.

There is no distinction. Mat 2:2  Saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him. Heb 1:6  And again, when he bringeth in the firstbegotten into the world, he saith, And let all the angels of God worship him. God did not intend that either angels or man should have an illusions as to the position of the Son even in His incarnated state. This is the official position. There is to be no attenuation of the Son of God. He surrendered HIS POSITION and GLORY but not the WORSHIP. He is GOD INCARNATE AND ALL MEN AND ANGELS MUST WORSHIP.  The Father commands and demands it. It must be understood that it is GOD ON THE CROSS.

This is what changes us. The realization that we have CRUCIFIED GOD. That realization causes an earthquakes that resurrects GOD LIKENESS IN US. 1Jn 4:19  We love him, because he first loved us.
